In short, becoming a wholly sustainable company essentially means that we stop producing more clothes. However, we all love fashion and understand that clothing is an intrinsic part of our culture and confidence. So, while we continue to provide the pieces we know you love, we are committed to actively working to minimize our environmental impact and make conscious choices that benefit both our customers and the planet.
We believe that quality should never be compromised for the sake of quantity. Instead of churning out a high volume of disposable fashion items, we focus on curating collections that are designed to last. Our products are made with durability and longevity in mind, reducing the need for frequent replacements. Our goal is to ensure that all fabric we purchase is used and all items curated are sold. That is why we produce and stock limited quantities to avoid overproduction and waste.
We are committed to ethical sourcing practices. Majority of products are made from Ankara and Adire fabrics which are made from 100% cotton and are more durable and long-lasting than other fabrics such as polyester. We also do not use placement prints and patterns. This has contributed to an approximately 45% reduction in fabric usage. It also means that each customer will have a unique piece as the pattern/print on each item is different.
We work closely with our local suppliers to ensure that our materials come from responsible sources. We maintain close working relationships with the production team to ascertain the adequate working conditions of their staff. We are committed to seeking and implementing means to sustainably optimize our production process and use eco-friendly fabrics whenever possible.
